Pompeii is a Action, Adventure, Drama with a runtime of s with your favorite movie stars. I would want to say that this film feels different, yet somehow it felt familiar. The film felt different thanks to the climactic volcanic eruption, which added an extra dimension to the final act, yet in every other minor plot detail, it felt as if I've seen the act many times before. Overall, though, it is a joy to watch, despite the minor flaws throughout the film.

One strong point in which I enjoy the film were the action sequences, which mostly are very practical sword fights, that turns out to be quite fun and enjoyable with the fast & swift hits. And then throughout the end, the suspense of the danger can be felt, which I attribute mostly to the decent soundtrack. Soundtracks which are supportive towards the appropriate situation is always a great thing to have *** This review may contain spoilers ***

Unless being a total prick, a real dumb, don't expect here any surprise. Especially if you have seen the trailer. Expect many many fierce fights, in the line of GLADIATOR, love, romance and vengeance schemes, that we have seen not a million but a billion times before. Many beautiful athletes physiques, some bodybuilders of course, a real mean, evil Roman leader - played here by a surprising Kiefer Sutherland - and a batch of many more details foreseeable at the most Few films have looked more terrible than Pompeii in the months leading up to its release. Its overblown, ridiculous poster - boy and girl kissing passionately as the world erupts in flame and fire around them - was matched only by its overblown, ridiculous trailer. Everything blows up! Everyone dies!! Nobody cares!!! And yet - against all odds - Pompeii isn't actually all that bad. In fact, it demonstrates more narrative complexity than anyone might dare to expect, paired with truly interesting characters who must live out their sombre fates in the boiling shadow of Mount Vesuvius
